Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and his magnum opus ‘Bahubali’ are the national subjects last year and of course continue for this year too. Stood as 2015’s biggest blockbuster collecting 500 Crores in India, ‘Bahubali’ hasn’t succeeded to fullest in appealing a section of hardcore Telugu critics who squabble to address ‘Bahubali’ only as marketing victory and not quality triumph.

Further infuriating proceedings in this year are Rajamouli conferred Padma Shri and ‘Bahubali’ declared as National Best Film. Apparently, two Telugu states are overjoyed with above two achievements and a Telugu film, director getting into International/National recognition is not a simple mean feat. But, how far and how justified are these two names fit enough to win such massive acclamation is forever questioned by a few steadfast detractors?

However, we are not contesting with the Government’s decision because we are as proud as you for our Telugu film winning the prestige. Every now and then, these awards trigger a controversy because it’s difficult to disregard the nexus between politics and awards. Lobbying is a must to obtain a grant from Government. This could be a wrong context to debate when ‘Bahubali, Rajamouli’ are seen as endearing charm of Telugu. But, why are those pre-possessed critic stances still outstandingly cynical? If an incomplete ‘Bahubali 1’ conquered the crown, it’s onerous to presume on kinds of zeniths a complete ‘Bahubali 2’ is likely to achieve? So, get ready for more awards procurement program in 2018.
